Numero 92 ~ a good district meeting

Hey fammmm!
Well, this week was ALOT better than last week.
On tuesday we had a good district meeting about how we need to find more people to teach and use the members to find people to teach so we decided to put that into practice.
On Wednesday we went on divisions with the zls and we both left our area and worked with them for a whole day. It was rreally good to see how they work with the members and how they get references from them. After the divisions i felt really motivated to try it more in my area.
The next 3 days we got a ton of references from the members and we found a ton of new investigadors. I think we found 16 new investigadors in 3 days which was really cool to see. Now this week we are going to work with those new investigadors that we found and we are going to keep using the members. Today we have set up to go with another member and on tuesday so we hope that we will be able to see some success using the members to find new investigadors to teach because it helps out the people that investigate the church to feel comfortable and to be able to feel free to ask questions and be more willing to learn.
My companion and I are pretty motivated now because we got to see some cool fruits for our work and we are going to continue working hard.
That was my week for you guys! I really dont have a ton to say but that is what I remember.
We played some basketball today which was really nice to get some stress out and be able to shoot a little bit! My companion and I wake up at 5 30 and we go play in the park some days too so I get to play a little bit! Good stuff!
I love you all!

Numero 91 ~ mas o menos

Hey fam!

This week was mas o menos.
This week dropped the first hard rain. We are now in rainy season here. We got soaked pretty good. I like the rain season though because it is a little cooler. The thunder here is so strong its like sitting in a car with strong bass, you can feel it in your chest. Its a pretty cool feeling.
This week we had to drop a couple investigadors because they didnt go to church. The family that we are working with didnt go to church because they had to go to a meeting in Chinandega. We were pretty sad that they didnt go. We are going to pass by tonight to see how they are doing.
This week we really need to find new people to teach. We are making a few changes in the companionship so we work a little bit better together. So I am excited for this week to see some miracles.

More than anything, i just want to forget about this week and move on. There are always bad weeks but the best thing to do is forget about it and be better the next week. So thats the plan.
Love you all,
Elder Sherle

Numero 90 ~ Burger King is a big deal; don't be hatin' hahahaha

Hey family!
We had a baptism! The girl named Vanessa that was gone for a little bit came back and this saturday she got baptized! The sisters in our area had a baptism too so we got did it together. It was really cool because at first she was really nervous to do it and was doubting the step that she was going to take but then she remembered that she had received and answer from the Lord and she couldnt say no. It was up until the last minute and she finally decided to go. It was a little stressful but at the end she was really happy and she said that it was the right decision for her to get baptized.
We have another family named Esperanza, Rosa, and Cecilia. They are neighbors of some members. They are really cool and are really progressing. Sister esperanza has family that is member and she is investigading the church with her daughters. They didnt come this week because they were in Matagalpa but tonight we are going to have a family home evening in their house with some members and talk about the importance of the family. They are on the road to get baptized at the end of the month. We are praying and helping them to find their answer if they should do it. So we are excited to see what is going to happen in these next couple weeks.
I feel like this month is already flying by. We are already in the middle of the month. I cant believe it. Its so crazy how fast time flies here. We are very busy.
This week we have some plans to work with some members to help out our investigadors feel good at church and have some friends. We are going to do some divisions with some returned missionaries in the ward.
On friday this week we had a talent night because this week was family week. It was really funny. There a bunch of members that danced to some old 70's music so I got some good videos. There were a couple girls that danced some typical dances from Nicaragua that were really pretty. Everyone had a good time and it was a really good turn out.
Today it was our bishops birthday so we took him out to eat. We asked him to pick where he wanted to go and he told us Burger King so we took him there. Burger King is a big deal here so dont be hating. haha
I love you all! That is what I got for you guys! Have a great week!

Numero 89 ~ Mother's Day

heyyy everyone!
Well, this week was awesome. First off, Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there! Know that you are a very important part in our lives! I love you Mama Jamma.
I had my last call to the fam. So good to see them.
On Wednesday, I went to Managua with a leaders capacitation. It was a good capacitation. President shared a lot of good ideas with us on how we should be better leaders and help the mission keep growing. We are capacitated to help ourselves and the other missionaries perform to their fullest and to be able to see success.

On Thursday, I did divisions with the other set of elders in the district. Their area is about 30 minutes outside of the city. It went good i had to do some interviews and get to know some of the people that are getting ready to be baptized. On friday I finally got back to my area. I felt like I hadnt been in my own area for the whole week. We did divisions which really helped us cover the whole area and visit everyone. We were really happy because a girl that was going to be baptized this last week came back from being out of town for about 2 weeks. So we got to teach her again and we are going to see if she can be baptized here in the next couple weeks.

We had to drop a couple investigadors this week because they didnt go to church but we are working hard to keep finding people.
I feel happy in my mission and I want to finish strong. It feels so weird that tomorrow my trainer will be leaving the mission. He always told me that I would be close when he left. I want to not think about how much time I have and just work. haha
I love you all. Have a great week!

From Lisa:
We had a great skype call with John on Mother's Day. It was awesome to SEE him and hear about his experiences. We asked him if his clothes were still working out OK and if he planned on bringing any of his clothes home or just leaving them there. He said he will only bring home some clothes for memories. I asked to see his shoes - wow... he's been walking A LOT! He was so proud of them. He showed us the patch he had put on his shoes there. He says he will bring home a shirt or two that shoes how worn the collars and seems are as memories for him. He loves his mission and is very happy. He thinks about how soon he can come back to visit the people he has become close to in Nicaragua. He loves the people! He is really hoping to someday go back to Esteli, Ocotal and especially Puerto.

Numero 88 ~ "Why be a King when you can be a God?" - Eminem

Heyyyy fam! This week went by super fast. I didnt even feel it. It was a decent week for us here.
We are in May now. The month of may we are calling it Miracle May because President has put a goal for the mission to baptize 306 people this month in the mission. He says for that to happen every companionship has to baptize at least 4 people. Everyone is really focused on getting this goal and doing everything possible to see a miracle this month of may.
This week in our zone meeting the Stake President showed up and talked to us about his plans with the stake to help us complete goals. He pretty much just animated us and excited us to go out and work as hard as we could to get the goal. So the whole zone is really focused right now. The goal for the zone is to baptize 48 people. It is possible but it is going to take everything we got to do it. This is presidents last full month so he wants to see a big miracle. This mission is very capable of it. After our meeting the stake president invited us all to subway which is always a nice little cherry on top.
I did divisions with the zls this week. I stayed in my area. We did good. We found a cool new family and put a baptismal date with them. There are 3 of them and they accepted the baptismal date for the 27th of May. We were really happy to have found them. The mom went to the church when she was little about 15 years ago and hasnt gone since but she was curious to see it now that is has grown a ton in these 15 years. This week they will be a focus with us to see if they are going to progress or not. Our plan is to work with as many members as we can to be able to meet all of their friends and family members that live around them.
Elder Rowe shared something cool with me that I would like to share. He shared with me an Eminem quote that says "Why be a King when you can be a God?". Coming from Eminem its actually pretty wise. Sometimes we are focused on the worldly things and looking for worldly rewards when we should have our eyes set on the celestial rewards and the celestial blessings that the Lord has promised us. Our greatest desire should be try to live the way the lord wants us so that we are granted the many blessings that he has for us.
Well i love you all very much! This week I will be chatting with you guys for the last time on Skype! Pretty crazy! Have a great week!

Numero 87 ~ reminded me of opening my mission call

Hey fam!
Well this week was alright. It wasnt the best but wasnt the worst.
This week we had to drop a couple of our investigadors because they just really werent progressing and we feel like we need to spend more time finding news and looking for new people to teach. We hope that this week we can work with the members more to be able to meet their friends and family that arent members and start to teach them. On sunday we went to every class and put assignments with a ton of members to leave with us this week so we are excited to see the results.
This week we had a meeting with the returned missionaries of the stake with the stake president and we talked about missionary work. We talked about how we can make changes to be able to see better results in the zone and in the stake. We put plans with the returned missionaries to be able to work with them more and help every ward in the stake become a missionary ward that shares the gospel with everyone.
One cool thing happened this week was I got to see one of my friends from my old area open up his mission call. It was the first time I saw someone in my mission open up their mission call. He is called to serve in the Dominican Republic and he leaves on August 3rd. It was really cool to see him open up his call. It reminded me when I opened up mine. His mission covers all of Cuba and I didnt even know that there was missionaries in Cuba. I guess his mision is really new so he is really excited to go serve the Lord.
Last night it drizzled a little bit and it has been showing a lot of signs of rain. Rain season is close.
Well thats what I got for you guys! I love you all! I hope you have a great week!
